Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Our current status, what we are developing, and how to contact us.

Who do you support?

Our mission is to support blind and low-vision U.S. veterans. The help available will depend on individual need, our approved scope, trained capacity, and resources.

What help are you developing?

We are developing practical guidance, accessible resources, help with accessibility features on technology veterans already own, peer connection, follow-up, and qualified referrals. Availability will vary by request.

Can I apply now?

We are not accepting participant applications or operating a waitlist. Programs and procedures are under development, and we have not announced an application date. General questions are welcome.

Will support be free?

Our charitable guidance and support are intended to be free to veterans. Final policies, funding, and capacity still need approval. This website offers no paid service or product.

Can I get smart glasses or another device?

We do not promise a specific device, including smart glasses. Technology guidance may focus on tools a veteran already owns. Future equipment assistance would depend on funding, availability, individual need, and approved charitable-use procedures.

Are you a registered nonprofit?

Yes. Our IRS determination letter dated July 28, 2026 recognizes Valor Vet Foundation as a 501(c)(3) organization, effective July 24, 2026, and a public charity under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).

Can I donate here?

This website does not solicit or accept donations. We must put fundraising procedures in place before adding a donation option.

Should I send veteran or medical records?

Please do not send Social Security numbers, VA or discharge records, medical records, diagnoses, financial information, passwords, or identity documents through our contact form. We have not opened a secure documentation process.

Are you affiliated with VA or a technology company?

We claim no affiliation or endorsement and do not promote a particular brand. Resource links are for convenience. Partner names or logos require current written authorization.

Does technology guidance replace professional care?

It does not replace medical care, orientation and mobility services, professional assistive-technology assessment, or other qualified support. We do not guarantee health, safety, independence, or quality-of-life outcomes.

How do I request accessible communication?

Choose Accessibility request on our contact form and describe the communication method you need, without medical documentation. Formal accommodation procedures are still in development, and we cannot guarantee a response time.
